One Minute Madness

Transforming the way hotels and guests connect through technology is a big challenge.

On March 7, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was transformed for the 18th time into a dynamic platform where engineering students and companies could connect and explore collaboration opportunities.

The Internship and Project Day (P-day) is a long-standing tradition held twice a year, giving companies the chance to present their internship and project opportunities to future engineers.

With more than 70 participating companies across both morning and afternoon tracks, and several hundred engaged students, the day was filled with activity, professional discussions, and new networking opportunities.

The event kicked off with One-Minute Madness, where companies had just one minute to introduce themselves, setting the stage for high-energy and lively conversations. Our own CTO, Mathias Wenzel, has participated in One-Minute Madness several times, and every year, we have many applicants. We currently employ three interns, who later become students and eventually join the company as full-time employees. To this day, many of our colleagues have been recruited through this process.

Omid, who was an intern last year, now works at AeroGuest twice a week while finalizing his degree to become a Software Technology Engineer, explains:

I chose AeroGuest as my internship company because I thought it would be exciting to work with technology and digitalization in the hotel industry. Before I started, I attended an internship day where I had the opportunity to talk to some of the team members and got a really great impression of both the workplace and the company. It was clear that there was an open and inspiring culture, where you are given responsibility and the opportunity to grow.

During my internship, I quickly became part of an engaged team and had the chance to work on exciting tasks. I learned a lot, both professionally and personally, which is why it made perfect sense for me to continue as a student employee. I look forward to continuing to learn and contribute to AeroGuest."

Transforming the way hotels and guests connect through technology is a big challenge. It requires a dedicated group of developers to overcome the many obstacles. At AeroGuest, we now have a strong team of 12 developers, and soon, 3 interns will be joining us.
